Frequently asked questions
Ivy Plant
Can it climb directly onto my wall?
Use a removable support. Clinging roots can attach to surfaces and make removal difficult, especially on damaged paint or mortar.
Can I keep it on a high shelf?
Yes, if the leaves receive daylight and you can reach the pot to check water and pests. Do not let vines tangle into fittings.
Why is it struggling in summer?
Check hot glass, stagnant air, root moisture and leaf undersides. Avoid treating every decline as a need for more water.
Can I grow it with another plant in one pot?
Separate pots make vigorous stems and roots easier to manage and prevent one plant's watering needs controlling the other.
