Frequently asked questions
Euphorbia milii (Crown of Thorns)
Are the coloured parts all petals?
The showy colour comes mainly from bracts around small flowers, rather than a large conventional flower.
Can I place it where pets brush past?
Choose another position. Thorns and irritating sap make a clear, inaccessible display safer.
Does a soft leaf always need more water?
No. Check root-zone moisture first; both prolonged dryness and damaged wet roots can cause soft growth.
Can I move it straight from shade into hot sun?
Acclimate it gradually and watch for scorching, even when the mature plant tolerates sun.
