Choosing this planter

Start with the intended spot, your current inner pot or rootball size, and the drainage arrangement to choose a suitable planter.

Check size, drainage and placement
  1. Outer pot or repotting?

For an outer pot, measure your current inner pot and check the internal opening, depth and base space, with room to lift it out. For repotting, choose the next suitable size for the rootball. A listed dimension does not confirm the usable internal size.

  2. Plan indoor watering

For an ordinary outer pot, keep a draining inner pot; lift out small pots to water, let them drain and return them. Empty collected water. Before direct planting, confirm drainage holes and arrange a watertight saucer to protect the floor.

  3. Give rainwater a way out

Check the drainage outlet, clearance beneath the pot and the route to the floor drain. Empty standing water from saucers. Stones cannot replace drainage holes.

  4. Check access and support

Measure doorways, access routes and the intended spot. Check support for the combined weight of pot, plant and wet growing medium. In windy spots, consider the shape's stability; a heavy pot is not windproof.

Check the product description or actual item for internal dimensions, drainage design and whether a saucer is included. Follow the reservoir design for self-watering planters.

Rounded Cylinder - FC-004 | Fiber Clay Planter

A commercial-use Fiber Clay planter with a wide cylindrical body, softly rounded base and clean contemporary finish. FC-004 is offered in two fixed size-and-colour combinations: the smaller size comes in White, while the larger size comes in Dark Grey.

The White version creates a clean and modern appearance suitable for bright entrances, patios and indoor-outdoor spaces. The larger Dark Grey version has a more substantial, stone-like appearance, making it suitable for large plants, statement displays and commercial landscape projects.

Its broad opening provides generous planting space for shrubs, palms and small trees. The softly rounded lower profile gives the planter a more refined appearance than a standard straight-sided cylinder. The Fiber Clay surface offers more visual weight and natural texture than a PRM plastic pot, while remaining easier to move and arrange than a traditional cement planter.

Material: Fiber Clay composite planter

Outdoor lifespan in Hong Kong: In normal outdoor use, generally suitable for 5+ years

Weight feel: Large, substantial and stable; lighter and easier to position than a comparable cement planter

Key product features: Lightweight for its size, durable, water-resistant, fire-resistant, not easy to deform or age, and resistant to corrosion, heat and low temperature. The surface is specially treated to reduce fading during normal outdoor use.

Shape and finish: Wide cylindrical body with a softly rounded base and smooth contemporary surface

Available size and colour combinations:

  • A — White: Φ700 × H650mm
  • B — Dark Grey: Φ1100 × H1000mm

Please note that the standard colour is fixed for each size. White is available for Size A, while Dark Grey is available for Size B.

Best for: Building entrances, hotel lobbies, shopping malls, clubhouses, office developments, rooftops, patios, gardens and commercial landscape projects

Planting suggestions: Suitable for palms, ornamental foliage plants, shrubs, small trees and large statement planting arrangements

Material comparison: More stone-like than PRM plastic; more practical outdoors than ceramic; easier to move and arrange than cement

Product images are for reference only. Fiber Clay products may have natural surface texture, colour variation and handmade finishing differences. Actual colours may vary slightly due to lighting, screen settings and production batches. The standard size and colour combinations are fixed as listed above. The 5+ year reference is based on normal outdoor use in Hong Kong; actual lifespan depends on sun exposure, rain, coastal salt air, drainage, placement and daily use.
