Planting & styling guide
How do I place a single-stem or tiered Happiness Tree?
In a pot
- Measure the full height available below lights and shelves, and allow room for the crown to spread.
- Place the foliage near bright, indirect window light. On tiered trees, make sure furniture does not shade the lower crowns.
- Keep the root ball lightly moist with good drainage. Check the upper mix and deeper moisture before watering; do not leave water trapped inside the chosen container.
- Move the tree by supporting its pot, not by lifting the trunk or pulling a leafy tier. Check planter weight and access before placing a large specimen.
- Let it settle before major reshaping. During healthy growth, lightly trim extending shoots to maintain the crown outlines.
Planters are part of the selected option
The displayed price covers the selected tree, height and planter combination. All five tree options offer four planter styles. Confirm the actual planter dimensions, drainage arrangement and current tree shape before ordering.
How should I care for it in Hong Kong?
- SunlightChoose a bright room rather than a shaded interior corner. A sheer curtain can soften harsh afternoon sun while preserving useful light around the crown.
- WateringAim for light, even moisture, avoiding both a sodden root ball and prolonged drying. A cool, humid room may need less frequent watering than a sheltered balcony.
- Maintaining the silhouetteTrim new growth selectively so the single crown or separate tiers remain defined. Avoid stripping an entire crown at once. Feed healthy active growth according to the product label.
- Drafts & tall potsKeep foliage away from direct air-conditioner blasts. For a balcony, plan a sheltered position and move portable pots before strong winds arrive.
Which plants work well alongside it?
Keep companions below or beside the crowns so they do not block window light. Use separate pots: their watering needs differ from this moisture-loving tree.

Peperomia Obtusifolia(Baby Rubber Plant)
Baby Rubber Plant adds a compact round-leaf layer beside the clear trunk. Keep it in filtered light rather than directly under the dense crown.

Snake Plant
Snake Plant provides a narrow vertical accent below the canopy. Its pot should dry more between waterings; do not copy the tree's watering routine.

ZZ Plant
ZZ Plant adds arching foliage beside a tiered tree. Leave space between leaves and let its separate pot dry more thoroughly.

Frequently asked questions
Happiness Tree · Radermachera sinica
How do single-stem, three-tier and four-tier options differ?
They describe the trained crown layout, together with the supplied height. A single-stem tree has one main canopy; tiered options have separate leafy levels. Compare ceiling clearance and how window light reaches the lower crowns.
Which planters can I choose for each height?
Every tree style and height offers plastic pot, bamboo basket, square cement and cylinder cement options: 20 combinations in total. Changing the height keeps your planter choice when available and updates the price. Check the final selection before adding to your bag.
Is Happiness Tree extremely shade-tolerant?
It needs bright indirect light for good indoor growth. A dark hallway or room far from a window is a poor long-term choice. The old wording has been corrected; assess light at the foliage, particularly on the lower tiers.
What should I check if leaves start falling?
Check moisture and drainage first: both prolonged dryness and soggy roots can trigger leaf drop. Also review drafts and recent changes in placement. Do not respond automatically with extra water or fertiliser; send clear photos if the problem continues.
