A closer look at the leaves
- Areca palm
- Arching fronds make an airy green canopy behind the sofa.
- Red Sister cordyline
- Long burgundy blades catch a flash of rose on the side facing the window.
- Dottie calathea
- Dark, rounded leaves in front carry a fine pink outline that picks up the cordyline’s colour.

How to arrange it

Place the palm first
Allow for the spread of the 150–180 cm palm. Clear the sofa, curtains and walkway, then place the cordyline where its red leaves show from the seat.
Bring the leaf markings closer
Bring the calathea to the front and offset it from the cordyline by half a pot. Turn the leaves slightly towards the window to show the pink markings.
