Frequently asked questions
Pistacia weinmannifolia
Does it really repel mosquitoes?
The leaves contain aromatic compounds, but mosquito repelling has not been reliably shown, so we make no such claim.
Is it the same as a pistachio tree?
It is in the same genus but is not the pistachio tree; it will not produce edible pistachios, and pistachio care does not apply.
Will it grow very tall?
In the wild it can become a small tree; in a pot growth is restricted and pruning keeps the height in check.
Can I keep it indoors?
It prefers a sunny, airy balcony or window; long periods of low light cause leggy growth and leaf drop.
