Frequently asked questions
Thai Basil (Potted Plant)
Is Thai basil the same flavour as sweet basil?
They are related culinary types but flavour differs. Keep plant labels if growing several basil varieties together.
Can I let some stems flower?
Yes, for display or pollinators, but those stems will contribute less tender leaf harvest. Leave other shoots for leaf production.
Can it live on a dark kitchen counter?
Culinary use does not make a herb shade-loving. Grow it where its light needs are met and bring cut leaves indoors.
Can I cut all the leaves for one meal?
Leave enough healthy foliage and growing points. A small nursery plant needs time to replace what is harvested.
