Frequently asked questions
Cosmos Bipinnatus
Why is it tall and leafy with few flowers?
Check light and feeding. Too much nitrogen and insufficient sun can favour stems and leaves over flowers.
Will the same plant return as a woody bush next year?
No. Cosmos bipinnatus is annual; it completes its cycle, though seed may produce new plants.
Is this a permanent flowering display?
No. Seasonal plants have a growth and flowering cycle; plan replacement or renewal when the display finishes.
Will more fertiliser prolong every flower?
No. Flowers age naturally; excessive feed can favour soft leaves rather than a balanced display.
